Anneke van Aalten (DVM, MRCVS) owns the practice and can normally be found here, whether consulting or in surgery. Although Anneke loves puppies and kittens she is passionate about caring for older animals. She finds it a real challenge to keep them fit, healthy and above all happy for as long as possible.
Jess S (BVetMed MRCVS) graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in July 2019. After graduating she joined our practice straight away, that August! Jess is passionate about all aspects of small animal care, but especially enjoys internal medicine. Outside of work, Jess loves practicing yoga, atttending music concerts, and travelling abroad.
Sam (BVM BVS, MRCVS) graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2020. He joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in July of 2021, having completed work experience with us previously. Sam enjoys working with smaller animals - particularly cats, and loves having the oppourtunity to help both pets and their owners too. Other than being a vet, Sam is a keen Sheffield Wednesday supporter, and also enjoys going climbing in his free time.
David graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 and has spent time working within the PDSA. In 2010 he started Consulting work for Veterinary Instrumentation, and has been a permanent member of staff with them since 2011. His role is Product Development Manager at Veterinary Instrumentation, in which he helps design and develop a sizeable quantity of the world's new veterinary implants and instruments.
Helen joined our team at Broomhill Veterinary practice in 2016 for her training, and qualified in 2018. Before becoming a veterinary nurse, Helen worked as a primary school teacher and as a microbiologist. She loves all animals, but is especially interested in rabbits. In her spare time, Helen loves looking after her children, walking, and camping in the lake district.
Jess qualified in March 2011 at the College of Animal Welfare and joined the team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in April 2019. Prior to coming to Broomhill Veterinary Practice she attained an Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Harper Adams University with a surgical and anaesthsia bias. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, but especially enjoys seeing rats, hamsters, and cats.
Laura joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in February of 2024, having qualified in 2019. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, particularly working in theatre. In her spare time, Laura likes to swim, walk her two dogs (Bella and Beau) in the Peak District, and spend time with her three cats.
Anna joined the practice in August 2017. She has one lovely cat, Tigger, and two lovely daughters. Before joining the practice Anna worked for a mediation charity as a restorative justice practitioner. Anna has a Bachelors degree in Criminology and has volunteered as a Special Constable. Her lovely Daschund, Peanut, also joined her family in 2021!
Rosie joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in March of 2022. She loves animals, particulary cats and sheep, and in her spare time enjoys going to visit the lambs at Graves Park.
Pauline joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in January of 2024. She loves dogs and has her own wonderful Jack Russel named Harley. Outside of work, Pauline enjoys walking and spending time with her family.
Celia joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in 2021. She loves animals and has a pet dog, seven snakes, a tarantula, and a tortoise of her own! Outside of work, Celia enjoys dancing, photography, and moth watching.
Annie joined our team here at Broomhill Veterinary Practice in 2020. She loves working with all animals, and has two cats and a dog of her own. In her free time, Annie loves walking and horse riding.
