10 years ago Broomhill Veterinary Practice opened its doors for the first time. On the 15th of July we will celebrate this by having an Open Day! You will be able to have a look behind the scenes and there will be displays to show you what we do here. Alongside that we are holding our annual fundraiser in aid of the Cinnamon Trust. There will be cakes, games, bric a brac, prizes and animals: Pumpkin the English Bull Mastiff, animal encounters with the Mayfield Animal Park and some rats will be joining us too!
Our raffle this year includes prizes kindly donated by local businesses such as a £40 voucher to Sakushi and a Doctor Who mug from Galaxy 4 as well as pet toys and blankets, meals out, haircuts and of course bottles of wine to name but a few. We are also offering one free consultation and 3 months worth of fleaing and worming treatment for your pet.
Tickets are on sale at the practice for just £1, until the draw at the end of July. Pay us a visit to buy your tickets or give us a call and we can reserve them for you.
The charity we are raising funds for, the Cinnamon Trust, really is a fantastic cause and truly deserves every penny we can raise. They provide essential care and support to pets belonging to elderly and terminally ill people, whether it be a foster home to cover a spell in hospital, a friendly face to help with feeding, medicating and cleaning up litter trays, or even long term care when the owner has to move into residential accommodation that doesn’t accept pets. When care is provided, the owner is kept in touch with photos and letters and also visits where possible.
It doesn’t take any stretch of the imagination to see how valuable a service the Cinnamon Trust is providing and how much of a positive impact it can have on a person’s quality of life. At the vets we see on a daily basis how huge a part pets can play in someone’s life. We cannot support enough the work that the Cinnamon Trust does to make sure that getting older doesn’t force people to give up their friend and companion.
